Open Letter to Candidate Ben Carson: Ben you are Dead Wrong on Vaccinations

Open Letter to Dr. Benjamin Carson

Candidate Benjamin Carson’s call for mandatory vaccinations of people/infants bothers me. Here again, a nugget of truth from history can steer us in the right direction and preserve our individual liberties. There is nothing so important than the right to Life, Liberty and Property. And government in charge of determining what is good and bad medicine, like determining what is good or bad religion, will implode our fundamental rights.

During the debates on the Constitution in 1787 Dr Benjamin Rush, a Signer of the Declaration of Independence, pleaded with his fellow Patriots to put medical freedom in the Constitution and in the First Amendment, and of good reason: medicine easily becomes an avenue for tyrannical government to reduce us to bondage – read Mein Kampt and the Nazi’s use of government approved medicine if you have any lingering doubts.

Here are Benjamin Rush’s own words:

“Unless we put medical freedom into the Constitution, the time will come when medicine will organize into an undercover dictatorship. . . . To restrict the art of healing to one class of men and deny equal privileges to others, will constitute the Bastille of medical science. All such laws are un-American and despotic . . . and have no place in a Republic . . . The Constitution of this Republic should make special provision for medical freedom as well as religious freedom.”

I repost these choice words of one Founding Father as an open letter to Dr. Benjamin Carson, whom I respect in other ways.

On this issue of vaccination Ben Carson is blinded by the doctors’ mindset that pharmaceuticals are king. He just does no know that infectious diseases were on the decline by sanitary reforms and better food choices long before the vaccinations were deployed or had chance to impact outcomes.

Additionally he is willfully blind to the fact that building a strong immune system by healthy lifestyles and nutritious food will eliminate the need for many vaccines. Since I went off refined white sugar, white rice and white bread and reduced my dairy intake drastically I have not had a cold or flu for 15 to 20 plus years – I have lost count.

Another nugget of history: Claude Barnard’s emphasis on the immune system was superior to Pasteur’s emphasis on shooting external germs. They were sparing giant contemporaries in nineteenth century medicine. Pasteur admitted on his deathbed that Barnard’s emphasis on building up the internal defense mechanism of the body was superior to shooting down germs with silver bullets. But the pharmaceutical medical lobby, with an eye to profits, prefer to ignore this historical fact.

It is the disease that causes the germ and gives it its potency. The germ does not cause the disease. I explore this history in my book Whisper of the Serpent which is a review of 2,500 years of medical history to show that nutritional medicine is superior to drug medicine and was so admitted by many giants of medicine through its long history – not to mention Hippocrates. If anyone is interested, the book was produced by Amazon.com and is in kindle or paper: whisperoftheserpent.com.

Law and Ideology

Posted on Oct 26, 2012 in Law

A nation’s laws are never written in a vacuum. Laws reflect a nation’s value system, its priorities, its worldview and the agenda of  the ruling elite. Since liberty can only be safeguarded by eternal vigilance, we owe a solemn duty to ourselves, our countrymen, future generations and the Constitution to examine the ideology of the person running for public office. This is especially true where public virtue is a commodity declining in value; for candidates often conceal their hidden agenda and deny or coverup their ideology.  Demagogues often couch their platitudes and promises in the language of morality, progress and  liberty so as to present the appearance of good. You can bet the farm that after they are elected their true ideology will shape our laws and transform our public policy in ways we never dreamed or desire. If we continue to be gullible, we will wake up one day and find that the America we once knew was gone.

Prayer in Schools

Posted on Oct 25, 2012 in Law

This commentary on the moral decay of America states eloquently what I have tried to express in my earlier post about the need for a moral restoration of America.

The poem was supposedly written by a 15 year old student in Arizona (reportedly receiving an A+). Whether on not this is true, the poem parallels many of my concerns about the increasing prohibition of the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord’s Prayer in public schools due to their mention of “God”:

New Pledge of Allegiance

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That’s no offense; it’s a freedom scene..
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all..
In silence alone we must meditate,
God’s name is prohibited by the state.

We’re allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks…
They’ve outlawed guns, but first the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the ‘unwed daddy’, our Senior King.
It’s ‘inappropriate’ to teach right from wrong,
We’re taught that such ‘judgments’ do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles ..
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It’s scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns, the school’s a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take! Amen

It’s Not “The Economy Stupid”: Treating the Symptoms

Posted on Oct 24, 2012 in Law

Voter response to the presidential debates reveal that while foreign policy and other topics are important, fixing the economy is uppermost in their minds. This is understandable. 23 million people unemployed touches many millions of families now living in fear of perpetual unemployment and decline of their material wellbeing. Mitt Romney may well introduce new policies that will grow the economy and create new jobs, as happened under Ronald Reagan. A thriving economy, with more people paying taxes will ensure more revenue to the government and more than offsets any tax-rate reductions. Kennedy and Reagan proved this.

But these measures will only treat the symptoms of a deeper metabolic dysfunction of the body politic. And, like all quick pharmaceutical fixes, the symptoms may temporarily disappear, but the underlying disease will continue to ravish the political body. Unfortunately, the saying that the money is in the medicine and not the cure, is also true in politics. Money and power is magnified by perpetuating the causes of political dependency of the mass of the people on big socialistic government.

Just as the ‘cure is to be found in the cause’ so the cure of our economic decline should be sought in the causes of our economic collapse. On one level one can trace our present economic disease to the adoption of socialistic principles a hundred years ago during the so-called progressive era from Teddy to Franklin Roosevelt. Both parties are culpable. It is true that the progressive income tax and the Federal Reserve banking system, social security and the welfare state are all planks in the Marxist/Socialist agenda and were foreign to the letter and spirit of our Constitution; but these measures were in reality only reflections of a deeper metabolic disorder in American society.

We first strayed from the religious and  moral principles, enshrined in our Declaration of Independence and Constitution, and which our founding fathers established for our guidance and our prosperity, before we embarked upon the road to economic serfdom and disintegration. Trading liberty for security is never an event but always a process – often indiscernible or readily excused under exigent circumstances. Unless we experience a moral restoration, no fleeting economic quick fixes will arrest American’s slide into third world status.  That moral restoration must start with the individual.  When the individual regains moral sanity, greed will diminish, fraud will stop its march through our ranks and our sound judgment and right thinking will be regained.  May God bless America.
